The Knuckle Deep Barbecue Festival is an annual competition in the river district of Asheville, North Carolina. Barbecue teams compete for glamorous prizes and eternal glory. Prize money this year will be at a record high (not really), as will be the level of competition.

Do yourself a favor, and plan on attending this event!

Not only is it one of the most authentic local food experiences in Asheville, it’s one of Wedge’s favorite weekends, and all proceeds are donated to charity.
